AI Agent Development Services
Tech Inject designs and builds AI agents that take a goal, use your tools and data to work towards it, and hand off to a person at every step that matters. Sales qualification, support resolution, invoice chasing, order exceptions, internal research. Fixed scope from USD 10,000, running on your infrastructure, with every prompt, tool and log owned by you.
An AI agent is software that is given a goal rather than a script. It reads the situation, decides which of its tools to use, acts, checks the result and repeats until the job is done or it needs a human. That is different from a chatbot, which answers, and from workflow automation, which follows a fixed path. Agents are useful exactly where the path is not fixed: a support ticket that might need a refund, a reorder or an engineer; a lead that needs qualifying against three systems before anyone should call it; an overdue invoice that needs the right tone and the right escalation.
Tech Inject's AI agent development service covers the whole loop. We define the goal and the boundaries with you, build the tools the agent is allowed to call (your CRM, ERP, helpdesk, email, calendar, payment and logistics APIs), write and test the prompts and policies, and wrap it all in the controls a business needs: approval steps for anything that moves money or talks to customers, confidence thresholds, full audit logs, rate limits and a kill switch. We ship with an evaluation suite so you can see how the agent performs on real past cases before it touches a live one.
We are an engineering team of 13+ with 150+ delivered projects, most of them ERP, CRM, e-commerce and operations systems. That matters more than it sounds: the hard part of an agent is rarely the model. It is the tools, the data quality and the edge cases in the systems the agent has to work with, and we have usually built those systems before.
What's included
Everything we build into every engagement.
Goal-driven agents
Agents that plan, call tools, check results and retry, built on Claude, GPT or open models through a provider-agnostic layer so you are never locked to one vendor.
Tool & API integration
Typed, permissioned tools over your CRM, ERP, helpdesk, email, calendar, payments and logistics APIs. The agent can only do what its tools allow.
Guardrails & approvals
Human approval on money, customer messages and data changes; confidence thresholds; rate limits; a kill switch; and a full, replayable audit log of every decision.
Grounded knowledge (RAG)
Agents answer and act from your documents, SOPs, catalogues and ticket history with citations, not from the model's memory.
Evaluation suites
A test set built from your real past cases, scored on every change, so prompt and model updates never silently regress.
Multi-agent workflows
Specialist agents (research, drafting, checking) coordinated by an orchestrator for longer jobs such as quote preparation or month-end reconciliation.
Cost & latency control
Model routing by task difficulty, caching, batching and small models where they suffice, so running costs stay predictable.
Deployment on your stack
Runs in your cloud account or on your servers, with observability dashboards and alerts. Prompts, tools and logs are yours.
Systems
AI agents we build most often
Each of these is scoped as a bounded agent with a clear goal, a small set of tools and a human hand-off point. Most start as a single agent and grow into a team of them.
Sales & lead-qualification agent
Reads inbound enquiries, enriches them from your CRM and public sources, scores fit, drafts the first reply and books the call.
- Works inside HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho or a custom CRM
- Drafts for approval before anything is sent
- Logs every qualification decision with its reasons
Customer support agent
Resolves tier-1 tickets end to end: order status, returns, address changes, how-to questions, using your helpdesk, order system and knowledge base.
- Escalates with a summary when confidence is low
- Refunds and replacements behind an approval step
- Measured on resolution rate and CSAT, not deflection
Finance & collections agent
Matches invoices to purchase orders and bank lines, flags exceptions, and runs a polite, escalating chase sequence for overdue receivables.
- Connects to QuickBooks, Xero, Tally or your ERP
- Never changes a ledger entry without sign-off
- Weekly plain-English cash and exceptions report
Operations & order-exception agent
Watches orders, stock and shipments, resolves the routine exceptions (split shipments, address fixes, backorder updates) and routes the rest.
- Shopify, WooCommerce, WMS and carrier APIs
- Customer updates drafted in your brand voice
- Pairs with our e-commerce and ERP integration work
Internal research & drafting agent
Prepares quotes, tenders, briefs and reports from your documents and data, with every figure traceable to its source.
- Grounded in your SOPs, catalogues and past work
- Output in your templates (Docs, Sheets, PDF)
- Staff-facing first; customer-facing when you are ready
Agents inside your ERP, CRM or HRMS
When the system itself is the bottleneck, we build it AI-first with agents as part of the core design rather than a plug-in.
- Custom ERP, CRM and HRMS with embedded agents
- Natural-language search and actions across modules
- See our AI automation and AI-first enterprise systems
How we work
Fixed scope. Weekly demos. No surprises.
-
Goal & boundary workshop
One or two sessions to define what the agent is for, what it must never do, which systems it may touch and how success is measured. Output: a one-page agent charter.
-
Tools & data audit
We check the APIs, data quality and permissions the agent will depend on, and fix or wrap what is missing. Most agent failures start here, so we start here.
-
Prototype on past cases
A working agent on a sample of your real historical cases within two to three weeks, with an evaluation report showing where it is right, wrong and unsure.
-
Guardrails & approvals
Approval steps, confidence thresholds, rate limits, audit logging and a kill switch, built and tested before the agent sees live traffic.
-
Supervised launch
The agent runs on live cases with a person approving every action, then with approvals only on the risky ones, as the evaluation numbers earn it more autonomy.
-
Monitor & improve
Dashboards, alerts and a monthly review of failures and costs. Optional retainer (USD 1,000–3,500/month) for prompt, tool and model updates.
Right fit
Who this is built for.
- US and UK service businesses with support, sales or finance teams drowning in repetitive cases
- E-commerce brands that need order exceptions and tier-1 support handled around the clock
- Agencies and consultancies preparing quotes, briefs and reports from the same sources every week
- Indian manufacturers and distributors wanting agents inside their ERP for procurement, collections and dispatch
- Teams that tried a no-code agent builder and hit its limits on integrations, control or cost
Honest comparison
AI agent or workflow automation?
They solve different problems and we build both. Use this to work out which you need, or whether you need a mix.
| Aspect | Workflow automation | AI agent |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Repeatable, well-defined steps (order to invoice, lead to CRM) | Open-ended tasks where the next step depends on what is found |
| How it decides | Rules and branches you define up front | Reads context, plans, picks tools, checks results |
| Predictability | Fully deterministic, easy to audit | Bounded by tools, policies and approvals; logged and replayable |
| Running cost | Near zero per run | Model calls per task; controlled by routing and caching |
| Build time | Days to a few weeks | 4–10 weeks including evaluation and guardrails |
| Typical starting price | From USD 10,000 for a scoped automation programme | From USD 10,000 for a single bounded agent |
| Our recommendation | Start here for anything a flowchart can describe | Add an agent where the flowchart keeps growing exceptions |
Our take
Most businesses need workflow automation for the 80% that is predictable and an agent for the 20% that is not. We usually start with the automation layer, measure where the exceptions pile up, and put an agent exactly there.

A chatbot answers questions. An agent is given a goal and a set of tools and works towards the goal: looking things up, taking actions in your systems, checking the result and asking a person when it is unsure. A support chatbot tells a customer where to find the returns policy; a support agent processes the return.
A single bounded agent with a handful of tools, guardrails and an evaluation suite typically starts at USD 10,000 and most land between USD 10,000 and 35,000 depending on how many systems it touches. Multi-agent systems and agents embedded in a custom ERP or CRM are quoted after a short scoping session. Ongoing retainers run USD 1,000–3,500 per month.
A prototype on your past cases in two to three weeks; a supervised live launch in four to ten weeks depending on integrations and approval flows. We build in two-week sprints so you see working software early.
Four ways. The agent can only act through tools we build, each with its own permissions. Anything that moves money, messages customers or changes data goes through an approval step until the evaluation numbers justify removing it. Confidence thresholds route uncertain cases to a person. And everything is logged and replayable, with a kill switch your team controls.
Whichever fits the task and your data residency needs: Claude and OpenAI models through their APIs, or open models hosted in your cloud. We build behind a provider-agnostic layer and route by task difficulty, so you can switch models or vendors without rebuilding the agent.
Yes. Everything we build, including prompts, tools, evaluation sets and infrastructure code, is delivered to your repositories and runs in your accounts. There is no platform fee to Tech Inject.
Usually, yes. We integrate with HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Pipedrive, Shopify, QuickBooks, Xero, Tally, Zendesk, Freshdesk and most systems with an API. Where an API is missing we build a thin service around the database or, for older systems, a controlled RPA step.
Yes. Most of our automation clients are in the US and UK. We keep a daily overlap window with your business hours, a named engineering lead, and written async updates so nothing waits for a call.
